La Quinta, Calif., to Install Two-Mile Fence to Protect Peninsular Bighorn Rams
After years of urging from environmental groups, the city has approved a plan to build a fence surrounding its SilverRock Resort to keep the endangered bighorns from entering the property. The groups are continuing to work with private golf courses to erect their own fences, and have filed notice of intent to sue various government agencies for failing to implement the barrier fencing requirements.
