Sunset Golf Course in Middletown, Pa. will now have a links-style front nine to go with its more traditional parkland-style back nine, after tree work by Londonderry Township, which owns the course, that will also reduce a potential danger for airplanes approaching and departing the nearby Harrisburg International Airport.
Longmont, Colo., OKs Dynamic Pricing at Golf Courses
On November 29, the city council voted to allow the city manager or a designee to set various golf fees, including golf cart rental and green fees, allowing staff to fluctuate pricing based on factors such as weather, course conditions and tee-time popularity. Golf fees were previously set by the city council via an ordinance.

Projects totaling $6 million for the Sunset, Twin Peaks and Ute Creek golf courses are proposed for a possible bonding issue in 2019. The city is considering whether the golf courses are worth the expense as rounds are on the decline, though one councilman noted that “if we’re going to have the golf courses, we have to keep ’em in good shape.”
