The Edwards, Colo., property earned the honor through Troon’s annual awards. Brian Kelley of Manchester Country Club in Bedford, N.H., won “General Manager of the Year” and Jeff Cathey of Tiburón Golf Club in Naples, Fla., earned “Superintendent of the Year.”
Ten Troon Facilities to Host Drive, Chip and Putt Championships
The Troon properties in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Mississippi, New York and Wyoming were selected to host local or sub-regional qualifying events for the championship, which is a complimentary youth golf development initiative in which the top 80 performers will earn an invitation to the National Finals at Augusta National Golf Club on the eve of the 2018 Masters Tournament.
The Powder Horn GC Goes Private
On April 1, the Sheridan, Wyo., property will become a private facility, with memberships still available at several levels for access to the 27-hole championship golf course, swimming pool, fitness center, tennis courts, fly fishing, and scenic hiking trails. Facilities will continue to be available for public events such as weddings, banquets, reunions, meetings, and golf tournaments.
Troon to Manage The Powder Horn Golf Community
The private Sheridan, Wyo., property features a 27-hole golf course, dining, a full calendar of social events, a swimming pool facility, tennis courts, walking trails and a 30,000-sq. ft. clubhouse.
Jamestown (N.D.) CC Thrives Under Youthful GM
Jack Bietz, 22, has served as Director of Inside Operations/General Manager of the club for the past two months after he was approached by the club to take over as he interned with a financial firm. The club, which currently has between 170 and 175 members, has all 18 holes playable for the first time since 2009, and a newly built bridge adjoining the No. 8 tee box and No. 7 green has “already paid for itself.”
