The beachfront restaurant, market and club at Sea Pines Resort in Hilton Head Island, S.C., has opened its first floor, with plans to open the second floor by the end of this month.
The clubhouse saw its final RBC Heritage tournament this weekend and will be replaced by an 18,000-sq. ft., three-story building with an art gallery, restaurant, men’s and women’s locker rooms, and more. Scheduled to be complete by next year’s tournament, the new clubhouse is part of a larger effort to upgrade Sea Pines Resort’s aging facilities.
The $17 million Plantation Golf Club clubhouse at the Hilton Head Island, S.C., resort opened March 26 and features an expanded pro shop, 2,000-sq. ft. event space, and a separate building that houses a state-of-the-art golf learning center. Through the updates, the resort aims to bring the comfort of a private club to the public.
A new 23,000-sq. ft. clubhouse and golf learning center are nearly complete, and a new 25,000-sq. ft., $12 million beach club will open later in 2014. And a new $20 million clubhouse for Harbour Town Golf Links is in the plans for 2015.
