During a December 21 meeting, the Decatur (Ill.) Park District Board leaned toward keeping the golf course open for another year, which could hinge on whether its irrigation system remains operational. The Board also considered downsizing the golf course from 18 to nine holes, considering that 13 of the property’s 18 leagues already use a nine-hole format.
Scovill GC Lowers Fees to Attract New Golfers
The Decatur (Ill.) Park District plans to decrease the green fees at one of its three municipal properties. The lower price would be combined with speed golf and special events to market the property as a fun, less traditional golf course.
