Eagle Point (Ore.) GC Breaks Ground on Chalets
November 7 marked the beginning of the first phase of The Chalets at Eagle Point Golf Course, a three-building, 12-unit complex for overnight lodging near the club’s Talon restaurant and Osprey Nest snack bar. The chalets will be near the ninth green, where the original clubhouse and pro shop stood, and are expected to cost nearly $1.1 million.

On October 10, the Manorville, N.Y., property will hold a dinner marking its 50th anniversary. The club’s legacy started with a card game in 1964, when a group of friends recruited investors to buy 438 acres to build a local golf course. The club now has 63 owners, including a handful of founders and their children.
