An argument between co-workers at the Los Angeles club escalated into a confrontation in the kitchen area during which Emmanuel Bravo, 28, was stabbed with a kitchen knife. Bravo was pronounced dead after being taken to a hospital, and Erick Antonio Hernandez was arrested on suspicion of murder the next morning. “It’s a tough time; we’re obviously working through a lot,” the club said in a statement. In another incident, an “innocent bystander” was shot when an argument broke out at a party at Quail Creek CC in San Marcos, Texas.
The owner of the Naples, Fla. property, who says he’s losing $600,000 a year because of declining membership, is asking for a rezoning to be able to build condos. The county’s decision could set a precedent for ten other club properties that might want to request similar changes.
Sherwood Country Club in Thousand Oaks, Calif., will host the The Champions Tour’s PowerShares QQQ Championship this year from October 28-30, as well as in 2017 and 2018. Quail Creek Country Club in Naples, Fla., has been slated to host the 2017 U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship, and Colorado Golf Club in Parker, Colo., will host the 2019 U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship tournament.
Beginning March 31, the Naples, Fla., club will increase the fee for golf memberships from $35,000 to $45,000, and associate golf memberships from $1,000 to $5,000. The club cites changing demographics in Southwest Florida and recent renovations for its surge in membership.
