The maintenance director and environmental consultant at the Boca Raton, Fla. property has been selected as the Overall and National Private recipient of the annual awards that recognize superintendents and their golf courses for overall excellence and best management practices. Alex Stuedemann of TPC Deere Run (Public Course) and Ken Nice of Bandon Dunes Golf Resort (Resort Course) were also selected for national recognition.
Las Positas GC’s Condos Earns Superintendents’ Highest Environmental Honor
Mark Condos, Superintendent of the Livermore, Calif., course, has been named the Overall and National Public recipient of the 2015 Environmental Leaders in Golf Awards. Dave Davies of TPC Stonebrae in Hayward, Calif., is the National Private winner. Fourteen regional winners and one merit winner were also named.
New Jersey Golf Foundation Expands Golf In Schools Program
The New Jersey Golf Foundation (NJGF), the charitable arm of the New Jersey PGA Section, has announced that the nation’s largest Golf In Schools program will be coming to the state capital’s Trenton Catholic Academy. Additionally, the NJGF will partner with the First Tee of Greater Trenton to bring the popular program to all elementary and middle schools throughout the city later in 2014.
Environmental Leaders in Golf Award Winners Announced
The Golf Course Superintendents Association of America and Golf Digest have named the 2013 winners, including Paul L. Carter, of The Bear Trace at Harrison Bay in Harrison, Tenn., as the overall winner. Golf course superintendents and their courses that have been named winners will be formally recognized February 5 at the 2014 Golf Industry Show in Orlando.
