Karsten Manufacturing Corp., parent of the Ping golf brand, has purchased five of Nike’s golf equipment patents, each of which describes golf club technology. “We see this as an opportunity to add utility patents to our already significant intellectual property portfolio,” said Ping President John K. Solheim.
As part of a new program, the Phoenix-based golf club manufacturer is citing “Authorized PING Fitters who have demonstrated the highest commitment to custom-fitting and the promotion of its benefits to golfers of all abilities.” The first list of honorees includes many country clubs and courses from across the country.
