Van Cortlandt GC Opens Renovated Restaurant
The New York City property, touted as the oldest public golf course in America, completed a seven-year renovation on August 24 with the opening of its lakeside restaurant. The restaurant, which is open to the public, is booked for events until November.
ClubCorp to Manage China Center’s New York Club
Located on the 89th floor of One World Trade Center, the 32,000-sq. ft. club will offer a variety of dining, social and business amenities, and is expected to open in late 2017. The facility will provide a cultural and business exchange setting for U.S. and Chinese professionals, political leaders and entrepreneurs.
The Century Association Elects First Woman as President
The New York City-based private literary club has elected Susan Morrison, an editor for The New Yorker magazine, as the first female President in the club’s 169-year history. The club began accepting women as members in 1988 after pressure from politicians and a Supreme Court ruling that upheld a city law requiring integration.
