Audubon Country Club in Louisville, Ky., is working with focus groups within the club to help gain different opinions on the course and property’s direction. The municipal Bobby Jones Golf Course complex in Sarasota, Fla., is also working on a master plan over the next 12 weeks, which will include short-, mid- and long-term projects and goals for the course.
The Louisville, Ky., properties are now owned by Craig Heibert, and will continue to operate under their current names, but will allow members access to all amenities of both clubs. The combined properties now feature a total of 36 holes and 360 acres of golf for 1,000 members.
Pennsylvania Run Golf Course in Louisville, Ky., works with a group of hunters to control the geese population, which has caused safety concerns for some residents. Bide-A-Wee Golf Course in Portsmouth, Va., has hired 15 Weimaraners to chase off the geese three days a week.
The 20-year-old clubhouse at the Louisville, Ky., property will undergo an extensive renovation, with the primary focus on the locker rooms, dining area, and creating an indoor golf experience. The updated facility is expected to be complete by spring 2017.
