Largo (Fla.) GC Plans Inaugural FootGolf Weekend
The club is introducing the hybrid sport through an open house and the FootGolf Open, which includes a round, a complimentary lunch, hats and prizes. FootGolf is played using a regulation No. 5 soccer ball on a 9- or 18-hole golf course with 21-inch-wide, 14-inch deep holes that are marked with red flags.
GCSAA Names Legacy Award Winners
Funded by the GCSAA’s philanthropic organization, the Environmental Institute of Golf, and supported by Syngenta Professional Products, the $1,500 college scholarships were awarded to 20 children or grandchildren of GCSAA members. The awards are based on academic achievement, community involvement, extracurricular activities and leadership skills.
Momentum Continues as Northwood Club Transitions Management
Bob Leenhouts, CCM, has retired as the Dallas club’s GM/COO, capping a 42-year career in private club management. Leenhouts has been succeeded by his Assistant Manager, John McGee. Northwood will complete renovation of its clubhouse’s lower level this fall and begin construction of a new tennis facility next year.
