RN Golf Management, owner of the public golf course, is appealing the decision made by a lower court that would protect the 166-acre property from redevelopment. If the case is accepted for review, it would be scheduled for briefing and argument in the fall of 2016, potentially ending a conflict that started in 2012.

The ruling by Circuit Court Judge Michael F. Devine dictates that “any redevelopment of the course must now be preceded by the filing of specific plans with the county, which will then be compared with the ‘Development Plans’ approved in 1971.” Owners RN Golf have been attempting to rezone the property to build homes, but have faced opposition from residents and the county.
