Two baby bald eagles were born over the weekend at the Harrison, Tenn., property. Named HB5 and HB6, the eaglets weight less than a pound each, but are garnering attention across the world with the help of a live “eagle cam.” The golf course will begin offering Eagle Tours next month.
A pair of bald eagles, Elliot and Eloise, is awaiting the arrival of two eaglets in a towering pine tree on the tenth hole of the Harrison, Tenn., golf course. The United States Golf Association contributed a live eagle cam to monitor each movement, from incubation through hatching, complete with microphone, pan and tilt zoom.
The Golf Course Superintendents Association of America and Golf Digest have named the 2013 winners, including Paul L. Carter, of The Bear Trace at Harrison Bay in Harrison, Tenn., as the overall winner. Golf course superintendents and their courses that have been named winners will be formally recognized February 5 at the 2014 Golf Industry Show in Orlando.
