A new 23,000-sq. ft. clubhouse and golf learning center are nearly complete, and a new 25,000-sq. ft., $12 million beach club will open later in 2014. And a new $20 million clubhouse for Harbour Town Golf Links is in the plans for 2015.
The Independent Lists Deadliest Golf Courses
Of the ten international golf courses listed by the British newspaper, four are located in the United States. Harbour Town Golf Links in Hilton Head Island, S.C., Prison View Golf Course at the Louisiana State Penitentiary, Furnace Creek Golf Course in Death Valley, Calif., and Kingsboro Golf Course in New York represent the U.S. in the list, with dangers ranging from stubborn alligators to soaring temperatures to freak accidents.
Arnold Palmer Holds Clinic, Greets Fans at His Latest Signature Course at Hilton Head
Over 40 years after the golfing legend put the island on the map with his victory in the first Heritage Classic, he held a clinic and greeted fans at the grand reopening of the Wexford Plantation golf course, on what Hilton Head Island Mayor Drew Laughlin proclaimed to be “Arnold Palmer Day.”
