Dartmouth College Considers Closing, Selling Hanover (N.H.) CC
The 118-year-old club has been running an average annual deficit of nearly $600,000 over the past four years and seen membership cut nearly in half in three years. The College has launched a drive to move $17 million in administrative spending to academic programs.
Royal Virginian GC Under Contract for Sale
The still-active club in Louisa, Va., currently owned by Sedgefield Properties after being purchased at a foreclosure auction in 2011, is now under contract for sale to Renovo, a firm founded by Justin Beights that pools money from investors to acquire properties for at least partial conservation. Renovo is also under contract to purchase River’s Bend GC, a long-trouble and recently shuttered property in Chester, Va.
Senior New York Couples Pursue Quest to Play Golf in All Fifty States
After discovering the Alabama Golf Trail while going to Florida to help with hurricane relief, the idea was hatched for the couples, who collectively have been married for 100 years, to travel together and play rounds in every state.
