National Club Conference Set for Chicago, May 19-21
The National Club Association’s 13th annual conference, to be held at The Union League Club of Chicago, will build its programming around three themes: Strategic Issues for Private Club Governance; The Club Industry Outlook and Trends for the Future; and Legislative, Regulatory, and Legal Issues for Clubs. The conference will end in time for participants to also attend the National Restaurant Show.
E-Z-GO, Cushman Showcase Enhanced Products at 2016 Golf Industry Show
The next-generation E-Z-GO RXV and Cushman’s Refresher Oasis will be displayed at the San Diego Convention Center. E-Z-GO, in partnership with fellow Textron company Jacobsen, sponsored the GIS Trade Show Opening at 8:30 a.m. on February 10 with a special celebration.

Las Positas GC’s Condos Earns Superintendents’ Highest Environmental Honor
Mark Condos, Superintendent of the Livermore, Calif., course, has been named the Overall and National Public recipient of the 2015 Environmental Leaders in Golf Awards. Dave Davies of TPC Stonebrae in Hayward, Calif., is the National Private winner. Fourteen regional winners and one merit winner were also named.
NGCOA Announces Course Of The Year Finalists
The National Golf Course Owners Association will announce the winner at the Golf Industry Show in San Diego in February, from a group that includes Forest Dunes GC, Ak-Chin Southern Dunes GC, TPC Boston and Heron Point at Sea Pines Resort.
Frank Caliendo to Perform at 2016 Golf Industry Show
The stand-up comedian and impersonator will entertain at the closing celebration of the event, which is hosted by the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America in San Diego on February 6-11.
Herb Kohler to Receive 2016 Old Tom Morris Award
The former CEO of Kohler Co. took the home-products and design company into the golf business during his 43 years with the company, building four courses at Blackwolf Run and Whistling Straits and buying resort hotel properties in St Andrews, Scotland. He will receive the award named after St Andrews’ long-time superintendent at the Golf Industry Show in San Diego next February.
USGA Contributes $50,000 to GCSAA Research Projects
The grant to the Environmental Institute for Golf will support the Cooperative Research Program, which focuses on local turfgrass issues.
