Golf Courses Countrywide Plan Fall Reopenings
Cypress Knoll Golf and Country Club in Palm Coast, Fla., and Mooresville (N.C.) Municipal Golf Course are both on track to reopen in September; Winter Park (Fla.) Golf Course and SunRidge Canyon Golf Club in Fountain Hills, Ariz., will each reopen October 1; Rockwood Park Golf Course in Fort Worth, Texas is scheduled to reopen in late October or early November, unveiling a $4.48 million makeover; and Wanakah Country Club in Hamburg, N.Y., accelerated phase three of its master plan, with the final phase set to begin in 2017.
Sunridge Canyon GC Enters Alliance with Troon
When it reopens in October after completing a half-million-dollar course enhancement project, the Fountain Hills, Ariz. club will participate in the management firm’s programs for rewards, vacations and group/tournament opportunities.
SunRidge Canyon GC to Reopen October 4
The Fountain Hills, Ariz., club closed for the summer to improve the golf course through two deep aerifications of all greens, leveling and reseeding 31 tee boxes, minimizing overgrown areas, adding beginner and family tees, and purchasing Visage GPS systems for 80 carts. The owners also announced the club’s new leadership team, including a partnership with chef Michael O’Dowd.
Mesa (Ariz.) CC to Reveal Renovation August 31
To mark the club’s 65th anniversary, members opted to close the golf course for the first time over the summer for a restoration. Coinciding with the renovation work, the club re-crafted its equity, seasonal and junior membership options, and named Jeff Lessig as Club Operations Manager.
