The Fort Smith, Ark. club looked to have an uncertain future after exploring a sale to a local developer. FSM Redevelopment Partners’ $20 million investment plans for the Fort Smith, Ark., club are moving along, pending the approval of hybrid zoning for the property that would allow its expansion. Among the planned changes are modernization of the facility to mimic a lodge, the addition of guests suites, an updated restaurant menu, and the addition of concierge airport and medical services.
Fianna Hills CC Nears Deal with Developer
FSM Redevelopment partners may soon invest at least $7 million in the acquisition and renovation of the Fort Smith, Ark., property, with a goal of closing the deal before the end of the year. Though the developer did not reveal specific plans, a design and facility plan will likely be complete by April 2014, with construction and renovation beginning in early summer, and work complete by fall 2015.
County Cuts Costs at Ben Geren GC
Even though it is expected to bring in about $700,000 for the year, the Fort Smith, Ark., golf course operates at a loss. In order to cut costs, the county opted to reduce staff, to not replace a portion of the golf cart fleet, and to delay the purchase of new equipment.
