Ranked according to user reviews, a short course is defined by GolfAdvisor as 18-hole courses under 5,500 yards or nine-hole courses under 2,700 yards. Hideaway Country Club in Fort Myers, Fla., takes the list’s top spot, followed by Barn Hollow at Hawk’s View Golf Club in Lake Geneva, Wis., and Palm Beach (Fla.) Par 3.

Ace Golf to Buy Plantation Palms GC

The course in an 821-home community in Land O’Lakes, Fla. closed two years ago and was listed as a short sale for $1.2 million, but the U.S. Department of the Interior approved the sale to Ace for $700,000. Members of the Plantation Palms Homeowners Association agreed to buy social memberships to the club for the next several years, accepting a $15-a-month surcharge on their association dues in exchange for discounts and other perks at the country club.

New Jersey PGA Names Award Winners; Florida CMAA Announces New Board

Canoe Brook CC was named 2015 Club of the Year and its Director of Golf, George Dietz II, earned the section’s Bill Strausbaugh Award. David Reasoner of The Ridgewood Country Club was named Golf Professional of the Year. For the Florida chapter, Jeff Hartigan of The Oaks Club will now serve as President.
