Quail Run GC Opts for Electric Carts
The Columbus Municipal Golf Board selected 60 electric carts over gasoline-powered carts to update the fleet at the Columbus, Neb., golf course. The Board reasoned that powerful gas carts are not necessary on the 18-hole course, which does not have large hills, and while the purchase would be pricier up front, it would be less expensive in the long run.
Madison (Ohio) CC Reopens Under New Ownership
Local business owner Rollins Cooke bought the 250-acre property, clubhouse, and all of its structures in January for $1.3 million, after the club went into receivership in 2012. Though the golf course is semi-private, the clubhouse, located across the street, remains private due to its zoning, and has undergone extensive renovations.
