The clubhouse, pro shop and restaurant of the Parsonsfield, Maine property were destroyed in the late-night blaze, which officials believed had started in a kitchen. Plans for a centennial celebration this summer and the opening of a new coffee and wine shop will be affected, owners Dave and Carol Porter said in a Facebook post, but “golf will open and continue as previously planned,” and arrangements will be made to find ways to use other parts of the property for upcoming events, and work continues on a new wedding venue.
Fire Causes Heavy Damage to DuBois CC Banquet Facility and Bar/Grill
The building that also houses the pro shop, offices and the club’s Tannery Bar and Grill was fully involved and flames had broken through the roof when firefighters arrived after responding to an alarm that came in at 2 a.m. An EMS was requested for one injured firefighter. A water main break may have hindered efforts to extinguish the blaze, leading to the roof’s collapse, but the fire was still out by dawn.
