ClubCorp Announces Continued Growth, Oakhurst G&CC Acquisition, and Eric Affeldt’s Pending Retirement
The management firm reported its twelth consecutive quarter of growth while saying it would not pursue being acquired for the time being, noting that it had not received a purchase proposal for the entire company. The acquisition of Oakhurst G&CC in Clarkston, Mich., is ClubCorp’s fourth this year. Eric Affeldt will retire as Chief Executive Officer upon appointment of a successor.
Two Employees to Buy Maple Ridge GC
The Columbus, Ga., club’s golf pro and course superintendent signed a letter of intent to purchase the 18-hole golf course from W.C. Bradley Co., which put the club on the market earlier this year. The golf course will remain open under the new owners, who have both worked at the golf course since the early 1990s.

CMAA Names Honor Society Members
The Club Managers Association of America has named 18 new members to the Honor Society, which is open to club managers who have achieved 400 additional credits beyond the Certified Club Manager designation.
