The city of Irvine, Calif. is considering reducing the planned 188-acre golf course for the Orange County Great Park, part of a deal worth more than $200 million that was struck with a developer three years ago, to just nine holes, and using the rest of the land for other recreation such as jogging, picnics and a proposed water park.
