Credit Card Breach Affects Hotel POS Systems
A data breach that affected the food and beverage outlets at certain Marriott, Holiday Inn, Sheraton and other hotel properties has exposed guests to potential theft. The breach occurred between March 20 and December 16 last year by “memory-parsing” malware that infects point-of-sale systems, including cash registers and credit-card swiping machines in checkout aisles.

Bandon Dunes Developer Plans Wisconsin Resort
Mike Keiser, the Chicago businessman who transformed Bandon, Ore., into a premier golf destination, is planning to build Sand Valley, a multi-course resort on sand dunes in Wisconsin Rapids, Wis. Keiser has signed an agreement to purchase 2.4 square miles of land with a closing date of December 17, at which point he is expected to name the architect for the first course.

The golf management firm acquired the golf networking organization in an effort to grow participation in golf, particularly among women. Women on Course will maintain its name and Donna Hoffman, who founded Women on Course in 2005, will remain as President and be based at BCG corporate headquarters outside Washington, D.C.
PGA of America Launches Get Golf Ready Power Mixer
In conjunction with Orlando-based hospitality industry leaders, the event will introduce attendees to the many benefits of the game through Get Golf Ready, which will include five lessons that concentrate on the skills necessary to play the game.
