The scenic Carmel, Calif., property has had several operating profiles in its 50-plus years, including a period when it was on prolonged life support. But a new ownership-management combination has restored its reputation as a distinctive destination.
The nine-hole White Course at Wyndemere Country Club in Naples, Fla., recently completed a “wall to wall” renovation, while The Oaks Club in Osprey, Fla., finished a year-long upgrade to its Heron Course, and the Quail Lodge & Golf Club in Carmel, Calif., renovated its golf course as the final piece of a $28 million property-wide update.
This week’s crime briefs include incidents involving clubs and golf courses in Texas, Michigan, California and New York.
The suspect, Neal Bentley Morton, was booked into Monterey County (Calif.) Jail on suspicion of 16 counts of forgery, embezzlement and grand theft totaling more than $33,000 from Tehama Golf Club, an invitation-only club that was founded in 1999 by the actor of “Dirty Harry” fame.
