July 10 will mark the official centennial milestone for the Bloomington, Minn., manufacturer, but a yearlong series of events is planned. Many events will recognize Toro’s close ties with the growth of the golf industry, and special website and Facebook pages and Twitter links have been set up to allow users and fans to share their own special Toro stories.
The Tekne Awards annually recognize Minnesota’s best technology users and developers in innovation, development, education, commercialization and management, and Toro was selected as a finalist in the agricultural technology category, for its PrecisionSense™ site assessment system. The winners will be announced on November 6.
The company broke ground on a $25 million, 75,000-sq. ft. expansion of its Bloomington, Minn., facility on September 5. The project begins the process of expanding the company’s product development and test capacities, and is scheduled for completion in the summer of 2014.
