Last summer, there were discussions of closing the St. George, Utah facility, but a ribbon-cutting ceremony on March 31 showcased a $1 million update of the clubhouse, marking a turnaround for the property, which already has 49 events scheduled. Upcoming phases include building a fitness facility and spa, updating the golf clubhouse, and building townhomes.

Bloomington CC Partners with SunRiver Group
Under the agreement, the St. George, Utah club will remain a private, 18-hole golf course, but SunRiver Group will be involved in financial and management matters. SunRiver Group plans to make improvements to the property while offering more golf opportunities to residents of the nearby SunRiver St. George.
CMAA Names 100 New Certified Club Managers
The CCM designation indicates that a club management professional has completed a rigorous course of study and training, and shows a dedication to proficiency and expertise in club management. The two classes are the final group of managers to earn their CCM under the Club Managers Association of America’s previous requirements, as new requirements became effective following the first administered CCM exam in January 2014.
Fire, Water Damage Closes Bloomington (Ill.) CC Kitchen
The club’s kitchen will be closed for two weeks due to extensive damage from water used to extinguish the blaze. Employees were boiling butter in a pan when it overflowed, igniting a large fire that spread into the ventilation system and to the roof. The clubhouse underwent a $1.5 million renovation earlier this year.
