The Edwards, Colo., property earned the honor through Troon’s annual awards. Brian Kelley of Manchester Country Club in Bedford, N.H., won “General Manager of the Year” and Jeff Cathey of Tiburón Golf Club in Naples, Fla., earned “Superintendent of the Year.”
Kentucky, Florida Clubs Develop Master Plans
Audubon Country Club in Louisville, Ky., is working with focus groups within the club to help gain different opinions on the course and property’s direction. The municipal Bobby Jones Golf Course complex in Sarasota, Fla., is also working on a master plan over the next 12 weeks, which will include short-, mid- and long-term projects and goals for the course.

Study Shows Slow Progress for Kentucky Clubs in Recovering from Recession
A report that looked at Form 990s filed by 12 nonprofit clubs in the Louisville, Ky. area from 2009 to 2012 showed that only four had posted net gains in revenues less expenses over that period. Louisville Country Club showed the biggest increase, of over $1 million, even though its 2012 report was not included. Standard Country Club showed the biggest loss, of over $2 million, but its 2012 report was also not part of the study.
