Properties are moving activity out of the clubhouse by creating innovative outdoor recreational amenities.
The Downingtown, Pa., club filed a lawsuit against Pulte Homes for breach of contract in 2012, alleging that the developer refused to complete a housing project at the property, costing the club millions in lost revenue and profits from memberships. Pulte asserted that it never agreed to build 1,000 homes.
The program will provide Talamore Country Club in Ambler, Pa., and Applecross Country Club in Dowingtown, Pa., with expanded 2014 membership benefits, including privileges at hundreds of private clubs across the country, a concierge benefit for tickets to sporting events, theater and concerts, and discounted pricing with hotel partners.
Applecross CC opened last year and is now in its first full season of operation.
