Improvements to two of the Sugar Land, Texas property’s three nine-hole golf courses are complete, along with updates to the short game practice area, locker facilities, dining room, and bar and grill. The third golf course will be complete in 2016, and the fitness center and tennis facilities will be complete this year.
Sugar Creek Country Club in Sugar Land, Texas has announced opening dates of its renovated Jones nine-hole course and member dining areas.
Sugar Creek Country Club has partnered with Jeffrey D. Blume Limited for the renovation of its three nine-hole golf courses. Renovation began with the Trent nine-hole course in 2013 and continued with the Jones nine-hole course in 2014.
Renovations included the re-grading and re-grassing of all tees, fairways, and greens complexes, bunker renovations, improved drainage, enhanced water features and significant tree work.
The Jones course opened March 27 with a grand opening tournament for its members. The three nine-hole golf courses will remain open this year with renovations to the Robert nine-hole course scheduled to begin early 2016.
Sugar Creek is also renovating its clubhouse facilities. The Clubhouse Master Plan included a complete remodel of the member dining room, relocation and expansion of the member bar and grill, addition of a casual snack bar with pool-side dining service and a complete upgrade of the kitchen service areas. Both men’s and ladies’ locker rooms were also remodeled and updated. New clubhouse amenities opened in May with added services and revamped menus in each of the venues.
Improvement plans for the tennis facilities and fitness center are set to be unveiled in fall 2015.
The renovation of the golf courses and clubhouse is part of a three-year, $2.5 million capital improvement project. The club’s overall vision is to update and expand the amenities to provide added value and improve the overall membership experience for members and guests.
“We are very pleased with the results of the golf course and clubhouse improvements thus far and look forward to the ongoing planning and execution of our Strategic Capital Plan in 2015 and beyond,” said General Manager and CEO Gordon Wagner. “The overwhelming positive feedback from our members is confirmation that we are heading in the right direction. Membership is growing and the activity of our current members is improving by the day. It’s an exciting time to be a part of our Club’s transformation.”
