The service assesses current revenues, inventories and expenses of rental programs at daily-fee, resort and private courses and offers ideas for optimizing profitability.
Styx Capital, the Cedar Park, Texas-based provider of brand-name golf club rental sets to golf facilities, has launched a free Golf Club Rental Analysis (GCRA) service that is open to all daily-fee, resort and private courses.
Through the program, Styx Capital will assess a club or course’s current rental program, including revenues, inventories and expenses, and offer ideas for optimizing overall profitability.
“It’s a no-brainer to reach out to Styx for this complimentary analysis,” says Jim Williams, the company’s Chief Executive Officer. “Even if a course has an effective inventory acquisition and management program, Styx can help it increase club rental revenues, whether partnering with Styx or not.”
The GCRA program has been created, Williams said, in recognition of courses’ needs to increase performance in all aspects of their operations. Improved rental program management and offering more attractive rental club services is an easy but often overlooked component of this analysis, he added, for all types of properties, be it resorts catering to travelers and group event coordinators, private clubs offering an additional member benefit, or daily-fee courses needing to increase golf outings.
While most courses recognize the value of current-model, high-end rentals, problems that can be identified by through the GCRA program can include:
• keeping sets too long or using mismatched demo products;
• using cash and and other purchase-commitment incentives ineffectively when acquiring rental set inventories.
With the Styx program, courses can use their cash and incentives for alternative purposes, Williams said. Other advantages gained through Styx is that rental sets are swapped seasonally (every 12 months for those with year-round play), or upon release of new models, to ensure that the “latest and greatest” club technology is always featured and made available to players. Additionally, monthly billing through Styx helps to align a rental program with courses’ unique golf seasons, to better match their cash flows.
Other added-value services with the Styx Capital rental club rotation program include free return shipping, disposition of existing rental inventories, replacement of missing or damaged equipment, pricing discounts based on volume commitments and pickup of current equipment.
Courses currently participating in the Styx Capital club rental program include Cabo del Sol, Reynolds Plantation, Poipu Bay and Oakmont Country Club.
