The club is upgrading its facilities to keep up with the modern trends and a steady increase in membership.
Stonebridge Ranch Country Club, McKinney, Texas, began transforming the bar and grill, patio and media areas on Aug. 18, reports Star Local News.
“We’ve already secured our spot as a social hub and home away from home,” said Natalie Jimenez, Membership Director at the club. “We’re trying to modernize and be trendier.”
An expanded bar and grill area will feature new décor and step-down seating, and the club is updating its patio to an outdoor terrace with an eight-person, counter-height fire table that features a fire strip down the middle.
The new “Anytime Lounge” and multimedia area will have three TVs with screens that are 50 inches or larger, couches and oversized chairs. Booths in the dining room will seat up to four people and have their own private TVs.
ClubCorp, the company that owns SRCC, invested $750,000 into the renovation project. The funds will come out of about $45 million that ClubCorp reserves each year for capital improvements at some of its facilities. Jimenez said that the company decided to invest in the renovations after seeing the club’s membership increase at a crucial time.
“It’s always been a popular spot,” she said. “We’ve seen continued, steady growth in a down economy.”
While the new outdoor terrace will overlook the golf course, reasons for the current renovations are aimed at improving members’ experience before, after and even aside from golf. Club management wants members to have as good of time in the clubhouse as they do on the course.
“The members are very into their club and into their community,” said Don Rucker, General Manager. “They come to have a fun time.”
Members can still use the separate main dining room, free from renovations, while construction occurs over the next several weeks. Because of the ongoing renovations, the club is offering reduced prices and special incentives for prospective members for the coming year.
“This is an exciting time for the club,” Rucker said. “The renovations mark a reinvention for the club that will make Stonebridge Ranch an even more relevant and vital hub in the community.”
