St. Andrews Country Club hosts the fourth annual Morgan & Friends Fight Cancer tournament.
On January 4 and 5, members of St. Andrews Country Club, Boca Raton, Fla., teamed up with LPGA Tour player and St. Andrews Resident Touring Professional, Morgan Pressel and raised $502,000 through the 4th Annual ‘Morgan & Friends Fight Cancer’ Tournament to help fight breast cancer through early detection and treatment. In their fourth year of hosting the event, the membership has raised $1.7 million, with net proceeds benefiting the Morgan Pressel Foundation which supports the Boca Raton Regional Hospital and the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center.
The state-of-the-art Kathryn Krickstein Pressel MammoVan was purchased in 2009 through the fundraising efforts of St. Andrews Country Club members and has tested more than 1,000 women in Palm Beach County, 875 of who had never had a mammogram. With much of the $502,000 raised this year, the Kathryn Krickstein Pressel MammoVan will continue to provide affordable and convenient access to mammograms as well as clinical breast exams and breast health education.
Tour professionals in the Fourth Annual Morgan & Friends Fight Cancer Tournament included founder, Morgan Pressel, and her fellow tour professionals, Natalie Gulbis, Paula Creamer, Angela Stanford, Rickie Fowler and Dave Stockton, who kicked off a Tuesday night reception with over 350 St. Andrews Country Club members, sponsors and guests.
