Myke Loomis and Phil Landauer will focus on building team play, developing players of all levels, upgrading the stature of the tennis program and offering a variety of clinics and exhibitions.
Escalante Golf, Inc., a boutique owner and operator of private clubs, has named Myke Loomis and Phil Landauer co-directors of tennis and fitness at two of its properties in southwest Florida — Spanish Wells Country Club in Bonita Springs and Tarpon Cove Yacht & Racquet Club in Naples. Loomis and Landauer have more than 33 USTA titles between them. Their focus will be on building team play, developing players of all levels, upgrading the stature of the tennis program and offering a variety of clinics and exhibitions.
“We are truly excited to have Myke and Phil join our team. They are accomplished players at the collegiate and professional level and have won dozens of tournaments around the world. More importantly, they have several decades experience teaching and developing tennis programs for youth and adults. The members of Tarpon Cove and Spanish Wells will greatly benefit from their teaching ability and fitness programming,” said David McDonald, president of Escalante Golf.
“Our goal is to develop a tennis and fitness program that is equal to our golf experience. Tennis is an important component to the club experience and we want to raise the level of awareness and opportunity at both clubs. Myke and Phil are some of the best-known professionals in the country and we are excited to have them join our team,” said Mark Nicklas, General Manager of Tarpon Cove and Spanish Wells.
Loomis was previously the Director of Tennis at Hidden Dunes Beach and Tennis Resort in Destin, Florida since the resort opened in 1985. Landauer’s teaching career spans 30 years and has produced several junior national champions.
