Whether it’s 18th-century reproductions or a more contemporary look, Hickory, N.C.-based Southwood Furniture—known for having designed and built arm chairs, sofas, love seats, writing desks and tables for many high-end country clubs in the United States, Australia and Japan—will be replicating that well-known care and quality in designing and manufacturing furniture for its latest customers, Ford Theatre.
Southwood was selected to provide lounge furniture and custom stacking dining chairs for the $8.5 million renovation of the Ford’s Theatre—the site of Abraham Lincoln’s assassination and one of Washington’s premier tourist stops.
“We’re honored to be a part of this historic renovation,” says Jerry Robb, Contract Sales Manager. “Southwood was specified for the high-profile project because of its quality, its ability to provide custom furniture, and its reputation as a leading manufacturer.”
The company will provide dining chairs with a custom “Ford’s Theatre” logo etched and painted onto the back panel of a wood stacking dining chair.
