Construction on the Reno, Nev., club’s new facility will begin in spring 2016, with a grand opening slated for spring 2017. The new 17,853-sq. ft. clubhouse will feature multiple dining areas, a bar, golf shop, locker rooms, members-only lounge, kitchen, offices, an outdoor patio, and underground cart and bag storage.
Construction of the long-awaited clubhouse at Somersett Golf & Country Club in Reno, Nev., will begin in spring 2016 with a grand opening slated for spring 2017.
“We have been wanting to build a clubhouse to provide our members with the complete country club experience they deserve for a long time,” said General Manager Anna Durst. “The clubhouse [Michael Thomson, Tectonics Design Group] has designed will be spectacular and will definitely become a focal point of the Somersett community.”
The design of the new 17,853-sq. ft. clubhouse will feature multiple dining areas, a bar, golf shop, locker rooms, members-only lounge, a multi-use room, meeting room, kitchen, offices, an outdoor patio and underground cart and bag storage. Each area of the new clubhouse will offer distinct and different atmospheres, taking advantage of the stunning views of the Sierra.
Somersett G&CC currently has 300 members, two-thirds of whom are Equity Members, and will accept a total of 450 members.
Dennis Banks Construction has been hired as the general contractor, with Marc Folgner leading the project.
