The new 12,000-sq. ft. restaurant overlooks the 18th green of The Lodge of Cedar River’s golf course in Bellaire, Mich. and will seat up to 100 in a year-round casual setting.
On Saturday, June 14th, Shanty Creek Resorts will open “The River Bistro” at The Lodge of Cedar River to the public and its guests with a Happy Hour party, the Bellaire, Mich. property has announced.
The River Bistro, which will overlook the 18th green of the Cedar River golf course, is the latest culinary vision of Executive Chef/Food and Beverage Director Andrew Reh. The 12,000-sq. ft. restaurant will seat up to 100 patrons in a casual atmosphere with a mix of traditional tables, high tops, soft seating, an oversized community table, and a 40-foot bar. During winter, the outdoor patio will offer spectator views of Schuss Mountain’s “Purple Lift” and Monster Terrain Park.
The new restaurant’s menu will feature fresh-fruit cocktails and spirits and up to 45 bottled and draught regional and international beers. The setting will offer plenty of pub games, including pool tables, darts, air hockey and more.
“We want to bring something unique to Bellaire that features fine spirits and classic pub games in a casual atmosphere,” says Reh, who was the 2012 recipient of Pure Michigan’s “Culinary Star of the Year” at the annual Governor’s Conference on Tourism. “The menu is intended to fit in between the fine dining of our Lakeview Restaurant and the casual setting of Ivan’s, our après-ski tavern.”
“[The River Bistro] menu,” Reh continues, “is inspired by interesting food-and-beverage pairings, [including everything] from bold smoked meats and seafood to delicate pan-fried perch [and matching them] with fresh-fruit mixed spirits, crisp white wines [and craft beers].”
