Now under new ownership, the Corpus Christi, Texas property will continue to operate the water park and resort, but is closing the Diamond Beach golf course and tennis court. Members who have been current on their dues for the past six months are eligible for a 2018 season pass for the resort at no cost.
While the Schlitterbahn Riverpark and Resort in Corpus Christi, Texas is staying open despite being under new ownership, the accompanying Diamond Beach golf course and tennis court are closing, the Corpus Christi-based KIII-TV reported.
The water park was sold in an auction on May 1 to IBC, the lien holder for the property. Under its new ownership, Diamond Beach Holdings, LLC, the park will remain open, KIII-TV reported.
In a news release, General Manager Jim Kunau said the Riverpark and Resort will be operated like a traditional Schlitterbahn resort property. He also announced that the Diamond Beach country club golf course would be closing and no longer offering memberships, KIII-TV reported.
Effective immediately, monthly billings for club memberships have ceased. For country club members who have been current on their dues for the past six months, Schlitterbahn is offering them a 2018 season pass for everyone on their membership at no cost, KIII-TV reported.
