Invited completed a significant renovation effort at Santa Rosa (Calif.) Golf & Country Club. The club is transforming several of its existing tennis courts into pickleball courts to create first class facilities for its members as popularity in the sport continues to surge.
More than 13,000 sq. ft. of Santa Rosa’s tennis courts have been updated with new asphalt, painting, striping and additional amenities to yield six new pickleball courts. Additionally, the club will offer a new Racquet Sports Membership for the local community so avid pickleball and tennis fans can have access to the new courts.
“Pickleball is the fastest growing sport in the country, and this strategic investment in renovating and upgrading our facilities demonstrates our commitment to meet that rising demand,” said Dennis Stankovic, General Manager of Santa Rosa. “Our membership is thrilled about this new chapter in the life of our club as they look forward to the leagues, tournaments and clinics that will be coming in the next few weeks and months.”
A grand opening party will be held for members of Santa Rosa on Nov. 12.
Pickleball has rapidly emerged as one of the most popular sports in the United States. A cross between tennis, table tennis and badminton, it is played on a smaller sized modified tennis court and typically in a doubles format. The court is divided into two halves and has a no-volley zone—or “kitchen”—that is a restricted zone.
Invited has positioned itself as one of the leaders in the growing pickleball movement, partnering with the Professional Pickleball Association to host four Pro Series Events averaging 800 players, including the Masters at Mission Hills Country Club in January 2023. In all, the company has 332 total pickleball courts throughout its portfolio of clubs, adding approximately 200 throughout its portfolio of clubs since 2020.
