General Manager Joe Priddy highlighted for “making sure the club members are having a good time.” The club is planning an open house in September.
The Santa Maria (Calif.) Country Club was featured on June 30 in the Santa Ynez Valley Journal, because the club on the central California coast will mark its 90th anniversary in September by holding an open house with food, tours, music and prizes.
The article highlighted how the club’s General Manager, Joe Priddy, “makes sure the club members are having a good time.
“When [Priddy] asks, ‘How are you doing?’ to the players on the golf course, it isn’t just a formality,” the article says. “He pauses and waits for them to answer, and seems to really care about them.”
The article described how Priddy was observed piloting a golf cart on the golf course “over rolling hills and past checkerboard greens,” and “[waving] to golfing groups and [greeting] them by name.”
“As with any country club, what makes this place great is its members and the family atmosphere,” Priddy told the Valley Journal. “We have a lot of people that know each other and support each other. This is where they like to be and where they like to bring their kids.”
The article noted how Santa Maria CC has strived to “provide more activities to bring families together…[through] family nights, menus with a wide appeal, and a variety of lessons for youngsters.
“The future is the kids,” Priddy said, while also noting that the club’s golf course Is “fun to play, day in and day out…It’s a ‘good memories’ golf course.”
