La Cantera Resort & Spa in San Antonio, Texas has been sold to affiliates of Ohana Real Estate Investors, mySanAntonio.com reported. Financial details, including a sale price, were not released.
The 630-acre resort has been under the USAA Real Estate umbrella for more than two decades and served as a “cornerstone” of the La Cantera development, mySanAntonio.com reported.
C+RB included the property in an October 2011 feature.
The property was revamped in 2015 and 2016, and today includes 496 guest rooms and suites and 127,000 sq. ft. of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space, mySanAntonio.com reported. Additional luxury amenities include a full-service spa; five pools; dining options including Signature, a restaurant from renowned chef Andrew Weissman; and a 36-hole golf course.
The resort opened in 1999 and has racked up numerous awards, mySanAntonio.com reported.
“La Cantera Resort is and will always be special to USAA Real Estate because we developed and nurtured it for decades in our own backyard, giving it an unrivaled sense of place in our La Cantera master development,” said USAA Real Estate President and CEO Len O’Donnell. “We took particular care to ensure that the new owners would be the ideal stewards of the property, and as such, we could not be more pleased to have concluded this transaction with Ohana.”
