Health officials in Cook County, Ill. are currently investigating 7 culture-confirmed Salmonella infections in people who visited the Skokie Country Club in Glencoe, Ill.
“We were notified and began our investigation mid this week,” said Amy Poore, a spokeswoman for the Cook County Department of Public Health to Chicago Tribune.
She said the department was still trying to identify the source of the bacteria, but added that the country club voluntarily closed its kitchen on Thursday.
The severity of the cases is still unclear, and Poore could not say whether those infected are members or employees of the country club, reports the Tribune. She was also unaware of any cases of salmonella ever confirmed from the country club prior to the seven.
Representatives from the country club were not immediately available for comment.
