The Clemmons, N.C. property is committing to make up to $50,000 in donations throughout 2015 to participating churches and other faith and non-profit organizations from the Winston-Salem/Greensboro Triad region. Donations will be tied to purchases made for golf rounds, hats and apparel throughout the year.
Salem Glen Golf & Country Club, Clemmons, N.C., has announced a new charitable initiative, the “Sharing by Caring Charity Program,” for 2015. Through the program, the club is pledging to donate up to $50,000 to local churches and other faith and non-profit organizations in the Winston-Salem/Greenboro, N.C. Triad region throughout the year. Donations will be tied to purchases made for golf rounds, hats and apparel at the club throughout the year.
“The Lima family, owners of Salem Glen Golf & Country Club, want to share their good will and generosity with the community [through the new program],” says Cammie Collier, the club’s Communications/Marketing Manager. “We ask community non-profit groups and faith organizations in the Triad area to contact Salem Glen with their request for Organization Identification Cards.”
The club will then send a supply of ID cards to approved organizations that can be shared with employees and other supporters, to be presented at Salem Glen to identify the organization they wish to have receive the club’s donations.
“Upon presentation of the Organization ID cards, for each round of golf purchased at Salem Glen, $1 will be donated to that organization,” Collier explains. “Also, $2 will be donated for hats purchased, and for apparel purchased, $5 will be donated. At the end of each quarter, charities will receive their donation check calculated for that time period.
“This is the first year for this specific program,” Collier says. “We have supported regional food banks and other charity organizations in the past, and we are excited about this [new] opportunity for the community.”
“We are hoping that many organizations will take advantage of this opportunity,” adds Vince Lima, the club’s owner. “We want to partner and create something really wonderful. Sharing is part of being a good citizen and neighbor, and we want to be just that.
“We are excited about this opportunity to share [and] are honored to support the good works of our faith-based and charity organizations,” Lima adds. “We hope many will consider partnering with Salem Glen Golf & Country Club.”
The club’s “season of giving” began January 1 and will continue through December 31, 2015.
All organizations wishing to benefit from the program must be non-profit and should e-mail Cammie Collier at [email protected] or call her at 336-712-1010, ext. 222, to register and receive additional information.
