Saddlebrook Resort, the Florida destination long known for its golf, tennis, and training excellence, has completed a $92 million transformation and introduced a new membership program that opens its world-class amenities to the surrounding community for the first time.
Spanning 480 acres of cypress-lined fairways and racquet courts just north of Tampa, the revitalized property blends Saddlebrook’s storied athletic legacy with modern design and expanded recreational opportunities. The comprehensive renovation reimagines the resort’s golf, tennis, pickleball, and fitness facilities while enhancing its expansive meeting and event spaces.
Under the direction of acclaimed golf course architect Rees Jones, Saddlebrook’s original Dean Refram and Arnold Palmer courses have been redesigned into three interchangeable nine-hole layouts supported by a new, state-of-the-art practice facility. The Pine and Oak nines now feature USGA-spec greens, rebuilt tees, improved bunkers, and modernized irrigation systems, with the first phase debuting this month. A 13-acre driving range, TifEagle™ putting greens, and advanced short-game areas complete the upgraded golf experience.

Saddlebrook’s new 13-acre driving range, designed by Rees Jones, features expansive hitting tees, dedicated putting and chipping greens, and realistic bunkers.
The resort’s 41 tennis courts—including all four Grand Slam surfaces—remain a cornerstone of Saddlebrook’s identity, joined by eight pickleball courts, a new fitness center, and plans for a multi-court Padel complex. Saddlebrook continues to serve as home to the Saddlebrook Golf Academy, Hopman Tennis Program, and Saddlebrook Prep, which have trained world-class athletes, including Pete Sampras, Martina Hingis, Alex Zverev, K.J. Choi, Karl Vilips, and Aline Krauter.
In 2024, the Professional Tennis Registry and Professional Pickleball Registry established their global headquarters at Saddlebrook, reinforcing its position as an international center for racquet sports and performance.
Named for the 1984 Super Bowl hosted in Tampa, the resort’s legendary Super Pool has been transformed into a lush hub for relaxation and recreation, brought to life with a custom mural by Miami-based illustrator Gabriela Benatar.
Beyond recreation, Saddlebrook now offers more than 200,000 square feet of flexible meeting and event space, including two signature ballrooms, outdoor terraces, and courtyards. New programming includes the Play-by-Play Sports Broadcasting Experience, a team-building activity that lets guests step behind the mic and learn the art of sports commentary.
For the first time, Saddlebrook introduces expanded membership opportunities for individuals and families beyond the resort community, granting access to golf, tennis, pickleball, and fitness amenities, plus exclusive dining and retail perks.
“Saddlebrook has always been more than a resort – it’s a community,” said Michael Kazma, President of Amzak Capital Management. “Through this reinvention and expanded membership offerings, we’ve created a place where guests, residents of the communities that surround the resort, and athletes alike can connect, belong, and grow together for generations to come.”
“This remarkable transformation unveils the Saddlebrook of the future, where legendary sport and modern luxury come together seamlessly,” said Camilo Miguel Jr., Founder & CEO of Mast Capital, the real estate and investment firm that owns Saddlebrook Resort in partnership with Amzak Capital. “We’ve reintroduced Saddlebrook not just as a resort, but as a world-class destination that speaks to today’s global traveler and the next generation of athletes.”
“This expansive renovation reaffirms Saddlebrook’s position at the intersection of elite athletics and sophisticated resort vacations,” said Jeff Mayers, Managing Director of Saddlebrook Resort. “We’ve created a destination where families, friends and loved ones can relax, neighbors can gather, athletes can train, and groups can connect.”
Designed as a walkable village, Saddlebrook’s 480-acre layout includes shaded trails, scenic nature paths, and cycling routes. Its Sports Village serves as a central hub for wellness, offering group classes, training programs, and personalized coaching from the resort’s sports performance team.
In 2022, Mast Capital and Amzak Capital Management acquired Saddlebrook with a long-term commitment to its revitalization. With financing from Beach Point Capital, the $92 million renovation represents the latest phase in that evolution, which will continue with the addition of a new town center featuring residences, retail, and public spaces.
Saddlebrook Resort is part of Benchmark Resorts & Hotels, operated by Pyramid Global Hospitality.
