The now-public restaurant was featured in Clarksburg, W. Va.-based WBOY12‘s Restaurant Road Tip series.
For the first time in Buckhannon (W. Va.) Country Club’s history, Robin’s on the Green is welcoming in community members, not just club members. Lauren Talotta from WBOY12 in Clarksburg, W. Va., recently stopped by Robin’s on the Green to speak with owner Robin Marsh and new patrons as part of the Restaurant Road Tip series.
“I started working diligently to get things to where it would reflect me,” said owner Robin Marsh. “I’ve just always liked to cook and please people with food.”
It’s a passion Marsh turned into a business, opening up her very first restaurant last April. For Marsh, constructing the homemade flavor-filled menu was a meticulous process of combining family recipes with her experience in the service industry
“The Dagwoods, I kind of got out of the newspaper, when I was little, reading the funny papers…the Dagwoods would always come out as this big, huge sandwich with everything on it!” Marsh said.
“The baked steak, from the ground up, it’s breaded and floured. It’s put in the oven with a homemade gravy base. I cut the pork pieces myself. I made the stuffing, spinach artichoke dip…the pan-fried catfish is very good. There’s something for everyone,” said Marsh.
The beautiful view of the green and the local hospitality is another draw for the customers of the restaurant, WBOY12 reported.
“With everything, change is hard. And for these golfers, this has been their private oasis for a long time, so it’s hard to get the adjustment. But we’re working on it, and things are coming around very nicely,” Marsh said.
