By Brandi Shaffer | May 16, 2017

The Coral Gables, Fla., club is building a 60,000-sq. ft., two-story clubhouse that will feature an 8,000-sq. ft. fitness center, an aquatic complex with a 25-meter lap pool and family pool, and a 6,000-sq. ft. event room that will accommodate 400 members. The project is expected to be complete by fall 2019.

Riviera Country Club in Coral Gables, Fla., has broken ground on a 60,000-sq. ft., two-story clubhouse, the Miami-based South Florida Business Journal reported.

The $37 million project is expected to be completed in fall 2019 and will feature an 8,000-sq. ft. fitness center, an aquatic complex with a 25-meter lap pool and family pool, a 6,000-sq. ft. event room that will accommodate 400 members and other amenities, the Business Journal reported.

The clubhouse will also have wrap-around terraces and views of the golf course, a 2,500-sq. ft. dining room and ceremonial entrance, the Business Journal reported.

The 70-year-old Riviera Country Club in January 2016 reopened its golf course after completing a $9.6 million renovation.

“We are extremely excited that we have officially broken ground on this brand new, contemporary Clubhouse,” said Board President Frank Vilar. “Its state-of-the-art facilities will be enjoyed by us and future generations.”
