Urgo Hotels purchased the Resort at Singer Island (Fla.) out of bankruptcy for $7.1 million and immediately renamed it the Palm Beach Marriott Singer Island Beach Resort & Spa, reports Travel Weekly.
The resort opened in 2007 as a member of Starwood’s Luxury Collection. The hotel’s former owner, WCI Communities, informed Starwood in late August that it would not be honoring its management contract.
WCI, a luxury homebuilder, was preparing to emerge from Chapter 11 bankruptcy at the time.
The property is located on six acres of beachfront and features a lagoon-style swimming pool with a two-story waterfall and slide. The pool is surrounded by cabanas and a whirlpool.
