Old Waverly Club (West Point, Miss.) has reopened Mossy Oak Golf Course after a yearlong renovation that modernized and refined one of the state’s most acclaimed layouts. The project focused on elevating playability and course conditions across all 18 holes.

The enhancements included a full reconstruction of every bunker, lengthening of the course, new greens, and upgraded cart paths. The refreshed design preserves the original strategy while sharpening the overall playing experience.
The reopening also aligns with a new ownership structure that brings Old Waverly and Mossy Oak together under one umbrella, creating a unified 36-hole private-club environment. The updated facilities underscore the club’s long-term vision of offering one of the most diverse golf experiences in the region.
Old Waverly, founded in 1988, has long held a place among Mississippi’s top courses and has hosted several major championships. Mossy Oak, opened in 2016, quickly gained national attention and serves as the home facility for Mississippi State University’s golf teams. Together, the two courses anchor a destination known for its contrasting layouts, lodging options, and warm Southern hospitality.
With Mossy Oak now fully restored, members and guests can expect a more polished, strategically rich experience as Old Waverly enters its next chapter.
