Preferred Club Program Expands Coverages

By C&RB Staff | February 12, 2008

Venture Insurance Programs (www.ventureprograms.com), a national program administrator and leader in the design and underwriting of select industry-focused insurance packages, today announced that it has broadened the Property, General Liability and Automobile coverages of its Preferred Club Program®.

•    Highlighting the program improvements are Property enhancements, including:

•    Increased tree, shrub & plant limits to $5,000 per tree with a $250,000 aggregate.

•    An amended definition of Golf Course Named Perils to include the weight of ice and snow.

•    Optional Golf Course flood coverage with a $50,000 limit.

•    Additional coverage enhancements, including earthquake sprinkler leakage and blanket building, contents and personal property of others.

General Liability enhancements include: Per location aggregate, broadened liquor liability guidelines, and the ability to add homeowners associations as additional insureds.

Auto coverage enhancements include adding a new endorsement to include: additional insured by contract, airbag discharge, broadened named insured, blanket waiver of subrogation, a waiver of deductible in glass repair, and transportation expense.

“These coverage enhancements, when combined with our expanded in-house underwriting authority and quick turnaround, should help brokers and agents meet the changing needs of the golf and club industry,” said Philip J. Harvey, managing director of the Preferred Club Program. “Through our underwriting partnerships with Chubb and One Beacon, we continue to improve the quality and flexibility of coverage for golf and country clubs in many different parts of the country.”

The Preferred Club Program offers workers’ compensation, property, general liability, property of members, herbicide and pesticide coverage with full pollution options, tee-to-green coverage of all playing surfaces, liquor liability, excess and umbrella liability, and cart fleet and errant ball coverage. It also includes business interruption coverage with an unlimited extended period of indemnity.

The Preferred Club Program is marketed exclusively through agents and brokers, and offers the club industry’s leading risk management services, including loss control and claims administration, through IRISK Solutions and its partner carriers. Preferred Club Program insureds and their insurance brokers can oversee risk management activity through a secure, online RMIS (risk management information system) tool available exclusively to policyholders through www.PreferredClub.com.
